Note: Part one is played in 3 and a half to four time for the first
three mesures then for the fourth it is played four-four time. This is also
played very fast so when you get to the second part it is a great relief. 
A real easy way to play the first part is if you have the option of moving
a floor tom to the other side of your kit. Like having it next to the Snare.
I don't do this however because I only have one floor tom. It is 18" so 
it delivers a pretty big bang. I played the beat about 5 different ways
before I found the right way. I just figured that I'f save the trouble
that I had finding the right way to play it. I even used to play it
in 4-4 time. Good luck.
