There are a number of excellent NiN resources available on USENET. Here's a quick guide:
alt.music.nin - This is the largest and most popular NiN newsgroup. If you feel like discussing life, music, and NiN, or have a NiN-related question, or just want to find out what's going on (a lot of the info on the news page comes from here), this is the place to go. Its popularity has spawned the #amnin chat channel on IRC, and also the wonderful homepage amnin.com.
alt.music.nin.creative - This is the place to go if you have poetry, stories, or other creative works about NiN to share, or if you want to see creative material posted by other fans.
alt.sex.fetish.trent-reznor - If you're obsessed with NiN's sexy leading man, you'll want to read some of the detailed erotica posted at this strange ng (or maybe even contribute some yourself). Unfortunately, much of this group has now been overrun with spam postings for x-rated websites (posted randomly simply because the ng has the word "sex" in it).
alt.music.nin.d - This group is for off-topic NiN discussions, but unfortunately, it's pretty dead right now.
alt.music.nin.elitist-clique - This group is apparently for those who find the regulars of a.m.n. to be elitist snobs. On the contrary, I've found the a.m.n. posters to be quite friendly, which is probably why this ng is completely empty.
alt.music.industrial - A group for discussing industrial music.
rec.music.industrial - Another group for discussing industrial music.
