Fight Club Author Chuck Palahniuk Talks More About NIN's Interest With The "Survivor" Soundtrack
Updated 05.24.2001 12:00 AM EDT

Chuck Palahniuk, who is on tour for his new novel "Choke," gave a reading just the other day at Eliot Bay Books in Seattle, Washington. "After the reading a chapter from each of his four novels," said Frank," Chuck opened up the floor for questions." Following his responses about how he felt about the Fight Club movie, Frank asked him how the "Survivor" movie was coming along - and - of course - if Nine Inch Nails will do the soundtrack!

"Chuck said that a great Survivor script has been written and that Nicole Kidman is "on the line" for being cast as the female lead," explained Frank. The author then went on to talk about how Trent invited him to his Fragility concert last year and, according to Chuck, said Trent is very interested in doing the soundtrack. "What made all this very encouraging is that Fox would very much like to have a nin-based soundtrack," said Frank. "So I suppose you could say that studio support is involved now."

Chuck also mentioned he listened to "Wish" from Nine Inch Nails' "Fixed" constantly while he wrote his new book Lulliby. "He joked that if you've ever listened to "Fixed" that you can guess the book's going to be pretty dark," mentioned Frank, "10 times darker than fight club."
