Chuck Phalanuik Mentions Reznor/Manson; Talks More About Manson's TV Series
Updated 06.09.2001 4:45 AM EDT

An interview with Fight club author Chuck Phalanuik can be found on Playboy.com talking about his latest book and other random questions. Again, both Trent Reznor and Marilyn Manson were brought up during the interview, but although nothing was truly new was said about Reznor, Chuck does go into more detail about Manson's TV series that was mentioned weeks ago.

CP: Manson called me a couple weeks ago. He said he's got this production deal with Ron Howard at Imagine Studios. He asked me if I'm interested in co-creating a TV series with him. That's the first and last I've heard of it. I'm like, Wow, could my life get any more surrealistic.

PB: Yeah, when Marilyn Manson calls you up....

CP: ...to write something for Opie. [Laughs]

PB: Trent Reznor asked for an advance copy of Choke. How'd that come up?

CP: I said in some interview that I had listened to a lot of Nine Inch Nails when I was writing Fight Club. I got a call last spring from Nothing Records when Trent was coming through town on tour, and they asked if I wanted to meet him. Getting to go backstage and meet people whose work has always inspired my work is amazing.

PB: What music do you listen to now while writing?

CP: Nine Inch Nails, Manson. Funny, I always go back to Nine Inch Nails. I just wrote Lullaby, my new horror novel. I swear I listened to Fixed tens of thousands of times. Just put it on repeat and let it play over and over. Also Radiohead. Pablo Honey is one I listen to a lot.

Thanks a lot to: frank.
