Although a few months
old, Clark
explained the May 28th issue of Time magazine featured
a column called "Meryl and Manson" about America's
Best, a poll they wanted us to suggest celebrities/people
in general as inspiration. As an example, they used
a cool comment from a Marilyn Manson fan:
"It's not an election
or a popularity contest," reported the article, "but
TIME's forthcoming selection of America's Best
-a compendium of those who excel at what they do in
America today- is proving to be a terrific chance
for you readers to come up with your own suggestions
about who is the best." Even shock rocker Marilyn
Manson got a nomination form a Philadelphia college
student. "When grades are looking bad, I think of
Manson and realize that if he can make it, I can,"
said the fan.
