New Radio Nothing Playlist: Trent's Current Favorites

The official 24/7 Radio Nothing added a new playlist to its already huge assortment of audio listings. Their latest playlist, as of late last night, is an ever-changing assortment of music from Trent Reznor's personal CD changer. What interests Trent musically you ask? Keep a look out, as it will be updated by Trent constantly...

Below is a press release about Radio Nothing we received, but silly me, I forgot to print it:

November 21, 2000 - New York, NY - nothing records announces today the launch of radio nothing. Radio nothing is streaming internet radio featuring exclusive and frequently updated "playlists" programmed by the nothing collective (composed of nothing artists and programmers) as well as fans. Radio nothing playlists showcase the comprehensive nothing records catalogue and provide a unique platform for nothing records' artists to showcase both their new, original music (including exclusive and internet-only tracks, demos and works in progress, and sneak previews of upcoming major releases) as well as their personal favorites by other artists. Future radio nothing programming will include concert webcasts and live broadcasts featuring nothing artists as "DJs".

On the launch of radio nothing, nothing records co-owner/nine inch nails' Trent Reznor stated, "radio nothing offers fans radio created directly from the source. It's a new playing field, a place where I can experiment and showcase new and previously unheard material from nine inch nails as well as my current favorites from both the nothing catalogue and beyond."

Nothing records' co-owner and nine inch nails' manager, John A. Malm, Jr., added, "Live 365's revolutionary approach, broadcasting tools and large userbase are the perfect partner for nothing's highly interactive web community. The range of interesting and unique content coming from the nothing collective is limitless. At launch, we are excited to offer a full range of playlists - stay tuned for more."

Accessible via the recently launched nothingrecords.com website, radionothing.com and Live365.com, radio nothing broadcasts using Live365.com's streaming platform for Internet radio broadcasting. Radio nothing features Live365.com's first branded player for a record label.

"Nothing records and Trent Reznor are providing an unparalleled musical experience to their fans and our listeners," said John Jeffrey, Executive Vice President at Live365. "Radio nothing has raised the bar for what radio and Internet content creators can achieve. We are thrilled that nothing records' radio nothing is using Live365's broadcasting tools to share the music of these diverse and brilliant artists. You will not find this on commercial radio."

At launch, radio nothing features six playlists:

  1. Nine Inch Nails remixes - programmed by Reznor and featuring preview tracks from Nine Inch Nails' November 21 release, "things falling apart" as well as his favorite, previously released NIN remixes. Reznor is slated to chat tonight on Spin.com/Yahoo! (9pm ET) about the CD as well as the debut of radio nothing.
  2. Clint Mansell - Raw Stylus - created by nothing artist Clint Mansell (composer of the "REQUIEM FOR A DREAM" and "PI" soundtracks, former front man and founding member of the pioneering English rock/hip hop band Pop Will Eat Itself) and featuring his most recent, unreleased music as well his current favorites from his DJ setlist.
  3. Official radio nothing mix - programmed by NIN programmer Keith Hillebrandt and featuring exclusive segue material and the exclusive and unreleased Clint Mansell track "The Mechanic".
  4. radio nothing by live365.com - programmed by Live365 and featuring the comprehensive nothing records' catalogue.
  5. nothing studios mix - programmed by nothing studios engineer Leo Herrera.
  6. Fan mix - programmed by three webmasters from the nine inch nails' fansites: theninhotline.net, thefragile.com, and smashedupsanity.com.

Radio nothing's initial playlists will be updated frequently and the number of playlists will expand and evolve.
