Gary Numan Praises NIN's Things Falling Apart

Electronica veteran Gary Numan, who just released his first new album entitled "Pure" in two years last month, posted a small snippet on his official website today about Trent Reznor's "companion piece" to the Fragile, which features an outstanding cover of Gary Numan's "Metal."

"After a few delays the Nine Inch Nails album, 'Things falling Apart' is now out," Numan said. "This album features the cover of the Numan song 'Metal' and it's seriously amazing. I can't recommend this album enough. Brilliant!"

In related news, work on "Pure" began after Numan completed his American tour in 1998, which included a duet with fan Marilyn Manson during his Los Angeles show.

"Pure" has been described as Numan's "heaviest" album to date, which he credits to his time spent in American night clubs. "The new album is harder than my previous album 'Exile,'" said Numan in a statement, "still dark but very aggressive, more varied in sound and tempo. The industrial music I came across in American clubs has influenced me greatly. I've injected as much power, depth and richness into the album as I can, creating new textures out of metallic noise, rather than through loops."
