In my years as a NIN fan, I have observed two main
groups of NIN fans.
GROUP 1: The More Intellectual, Thoughtful, Reflective Fans
This group of NIN fans are usually freaks, but
may not wear black ALL the time. They also may like to read
"deep" books. I call them the intellectual thoughtful reflective
group because they like to think about the songs, their lyrics,
and what it all means. I'm sure most people do this, but this
group finds the music to be very "deep" and thought-provoking.
GROUP 2: "Fuck 'Em All" Freaks
This group doesn't really give a flying shit whether or not the
music or lyrics MEANS anything, they just want music that rocks
or rules or talks about Satan. Unfortunately, this groupd contains
the most "wannabes" (If you're reading this, you're obviously not a
wannabe, so calm down). People in this group are most often destructive
and like to break stuff and light stuff on fire. Many in this group
are also "Manson Freaks" too (See below for report on differences between
NIN and Manson Freaks). This group most likely litens to heavy metal, but
nothing that won't burst your eardrums (i.e., a warm place, and 7 minute
instrumentals).
GROUP 3: The Fuck 'Em All Intellectuals
This is the majority of you. Sort of like a mixed breed.
I also fit into this group. Fans in this group display
behavior habits of both Groups 1 and 2, but one may be
more prominent that the other. People in this group are
also most likely to be anarchists, because they are smart
enough to know what bands like Rage Against the Machine are
saying: the US government is corrupt and just fucked up all
around. Like I said, people in this group may exhibit attitudes
from BOTH groups. There are usually very few "Manson Freaks" in
this group.
I've found these rules also apply to Manson Freaks too.
REZNOR FREAKS
- Wears all black but may occasionally wear blue or red
(Especiall if it on a NIN shirt!). Maybe even white sometimes.
- Usually not as destructive as Manson Freaks
- Not as likely to be satanic as Manson Freaks
- Not as likely to be nihilists as Manson Freaks
- Usually calmer and less fanatic
- May wear Doc Martens
MANSON FREAKS
- Wears all black, even if he/she has to go naked if they
have any clean black clothes
- Usually very destructive
- Very noticable from the pentagrams they draw all over eveything
- Almost ALWAYS wear Doc Martens
- Most either have black hair or dyed it black
- Most think Manson is some sort of god
- Most think God doesn't exist or that he is inferior to Manson
NOTE: Not ALL of these rules apply to every REZNOR or MANSON
freak, and either way, YOU'RE STILL A FREAK! So be a freak,
be happy or sad (Whatever your style), and hand out beat-downs
to anyone who says you suck BECAUSE YOU'RE A FREAK. I hate those
queers (Who 99% of the time happen to be preppies or wiggers).
