Just about all his songs, Closer, Hurt, Reptile, are love songs, but are about how love and pain go hand in hand. Closer is about the only one that can relieve the pain he feels (by sexual means I'm guessing), Hurt is about how he loses everyone he loves, usually through a fault of his own, and Reptile is about someone he loves, but he almost hates himself for loving her because of who she is.
