If you're looking for a unique NiN experience, you might consider a laser show. A company called Laser Fantasy hosts laser shows with various musical themes in special theatres around the country. The themes range from older music like Laser Hendrix, Laser Rolling Stones, Laser Zepplin, and Laser "The Wall," to newer stuff such as Lasirvana, Laser Smashing Pumpkins, and Laser NiN/Ministry. The NiN/Ministry show is excellent, especially if you're a fan of both bands. In the special theatre, called a "laserium," you lie down on the floor (or sit in reclining chairs, if you wish), the light goes out, and various laser-created colorful designs, patterns, and animations blaze the ceiling above you, all in sync with the music. The show begins with A Warm Place, during which you travel through a laser-generated graveyard. As AWP begins to end, the familiar sound of Pinion grows louder and louder in the background, until its final guitar blasts mark the appearance of an animated laser NiN symbol. The music then jumps right into Last, which, along with the rest of the show, blasts out almost louder than a live concert. The other NiN songs played (which are intermingled with songs by Ministry) include Burn, Closer, Down In It, March Of The Pigs (during which we see animated pig tanks and helicopters gracing the screen), and Head Like A Hole (the encore song, where the room fills with smoke to make the lasers in the air visible). Along with many Ministry favorites such as Jesus Built My Hotrod, the show also plays a unique NiN/Ministry duet in the form of the 1000 Homo DJ's song Supernaut. If you're one of the many fans dying to see NiN live, these laser shows have the feel, loudness, and intesity to tide you over at least for a little while.
